Rev. Kenneth R. Wimberly Sr.,Pastor
Psalms 37:23 says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delighteth in his way.” This scripture verse is a reminder to Pastor Wimberly that as he follows and trusts in God, He will watch over and direct his every step. Kenneth Ray Wimberly, Sr. was groomed for a divine purpose as his Christian upbringing led to God’s call into the ministry in the year 2000. He served as associate minister at Paradise Missionary Baptist Church for two years. For three years, he was an associate minister at Mount Hermon Missionary Baptist Church before becoming the church’s second pastor. He served as Mount Hermon’s pastor for over seven years and then as pastor of Christ Temple Missionary Baptist Church just over three years. He now serves as Pastor of Taylor Street Missionary Baptist Church.
Pastor Wimberly is a native of Chickasha, Oklahoma and migrated to California in 1980. His academic education includes enrolment at American River College and at Sacramento City College where he studied Criminal Justice and received his certification as a Juvenile Justice Counsellor. His biblical education includes two years at Bible Study Fellowship, and classes focusing on Christian leadership, marriage and Christian counselling. He has taught classes and workshops for the Northern District Baptist Association and has facilitated religious services at the Bannon Street Mission.
An effective communicator of God’s Word, Pastor Wimberly is known for his practical teaching and dynamic preaching styles which help people apply the timeless truths of Scripture to their everyday lives.
His purposeful intent is to offer sincere Christian service and leadership in the areas of Christian discipleship, spiritual growth, family development and biblical instruction to ensure optimal results that glorify God.
He and his wife, Kimberly, have been married since 1989. They have four children, Kenneth Jr., Kaleb, Kenya, Kameron, and one granddaughter, Kylee.
